WebThe Alberta High Risk Offender Program is a partnership between: Police, Corrections, the Crown, and the Court. It allows a multi-faceted response by Alberta Police forces when dealing with individuals who are believed to present a risk of significant harm to the health and safety of any individual. WebThe most recent Canadian study I could find shows that only 12% of violent offenders were re-convicted within 2 years. (23% if you include non-violent offenders) That’s still way too big a number, but significantly better than the results seen by the the USA’s systems which tend to focus a lot more on punishing criminals than rehabilitation.
